What it is

A Claude Code plugin marketplace with 12 practice-area agents — commercial, corporate, employment, privacy, IP, litigation, regulatory, AI governance, product counsel, law student, legal clinic, and legal builder hub — plus 11 UK-law variants localised to English, Scots, and Northern Irish law. Each plugin runs a cold-start interview that reads your seed documents and writes a practice profile in plain English. Every skill reads that profile before doing anything.

Setup

How it works

    Install the marketplace

    Run /plugin marketplace add uk-agents/uk-legal-plugins inside Claude Code, then install the plugin for your practice area.

  2. 2

    Run the cold-start interview

    A 10–20 minute setup (or 2-minute quick start) that reads your seed documents and writes a plain-English practice profile to your machine. Every skill reads it before doing anything.

  3. 3

    Connect a research tool

    Optional: pair with CourtListener, UK Legal MCP, or another connector for live citations. Without one, every cite is tagged [model knowledge — verify].

  4. 4

    Use your skills

    Run any skill in the plugin. Each one reads your practice profile, follows your playbook, and produces a draft for attorney review.

Design

How it's built.

  • Every output is a draft for attorney review

    Not legal advice. Irreversible actions (send, file, sign) have explicit gates before anything leaves your machine.

  • Source attribution on every citation

    Each cite is tagged with where it came from: research tool, legislation.gov.uk, BAILII, or model knowledge. Nothing is quietly asserted.

  • Your practice profile lives on your machine

    Stored at ~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal/. No data is transmitted to the plugin author.

  • Jurisdiction assumptions are surfaced

    When a skill defaults to English law or a US jurisdiction, it says so. Cross-border flags are raised, not suppressed.

  • 100% markdown and JSON

    No application code, no build step, no dependencies. Every skill is a step-by-step prompt. Edit any file and it takes effect immediately.
